Define the capability
Write what the learner should be able to notice, decide, or produce. Avoid outcomes such as “understand” that cannot guide teaching or practice.
Three things to do before writing.
Check each step when you have applied it to the material you brought with you.
Put it to work
Complete: “Given… the learner can… so that… Success is visible when…”.
Write enough to make the next decision easier. This is a working note, not a polished submission.
